Kakodonga breaches embankment in Golaghat

Flashfloods, triggered by continuous heavy rain in the past few days, have had adevastating impact in many areas under Golaghat district. The raging water ofthe Kakodonga river breached an embankment in the district on Saturday night.

Followingthe breach in the embankment, panic has gripped the area where there are about10 villages with the villagers not knowing where to go. Some people were takingshelters at government schools.

Floodaffected people have alleged that the district administration or Assamgovernment have not yet provided any relief measures to them.
