Karbi Anglong DFO dies of COVID-19

The divisional forest officer of the Karbi Anglong district in Assam succumbed to the coronavirus infection on Monday.

The deceased identified as one Jaysingh Ber was admitted to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for the treatment of COVID-19.

Initially, Jaysingh's wife tested positive for the disease, however, later she was declared COVID-19 negative.

Chief Executive Secretary of Karbi Anglong District Autonomous Council Tuliram Ranghang mourns Jaysingh's death and has urged people to maintain social distancing norms including wearing of masks all the time.

Meanwhile, the Jaysingh's family has left for Guwahati to recover his body.
