Pratidin Bureau

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said that no school students will be allowed to take part in any kind of protest in the State. While speaking at a programme organised by Bathou Mahasabha in Udalguri, the Chief Minister on Tuesday said "Our government is bound to take action against those, who have been using school students for protest."

The students of various colleges, universities and schools have already taken to the streets in protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill. A protest rally by the student organisations of Assam led by the Cotton College Students Union (CUSU) is being organised on Tuesday in Guwahati.

The CM further said that government will not allow a student demonstration during school hours for any type of protest. "A disruption of the school will not be tolerated; we are here for an education and not a political protest," said CM.
