In amassive blow to Assam police, a dreaded accused escaped from police custody in Bilasiparaon Friday. The accused was involved in a kidnapping case.

Identified as Firdus Ali, the accused managed to give a slip to Bilasipara police in the court premises with handcuffs in his hand. "He was arrested in connection with the kidnapping of a girl student," informed police sources.

Meanwhile, top officials of Bilasipara Police ordered a departmental probe into the incident.
