Kokrajhar: Clause 6 Panel Holds Meet with Intellectuals

For the first time, the high-level committee for implementing Clause 6 of the Assam Accord under the leadership of former justice of Gauhati High Court, BK Sarma had taken the opinion of different organizations at Circuit House in Kokrajhar.

The committee has taken the opinion from different organizations, intellectuals and renowned personalities for the conservation of the culture and language of the Assamese people and also on the preservation of tradition and heritage of Assam.

Opinions havealso been taken on the reservation of seats in Parliament, Legislative Assemblyof the indigenous people, and indigenous tribes of the state.

Representatives from Chirang, Kokrajhar, Goalpara, South Salmara, and Bongaigaon have participated in the meeting and placed their views and opinions on different issues.

The meeting wasalso attended by AASU Adviser Samujjal Kumar Bhattacharjee, General SecretaryLurin Jyoti Gogoi among others.
