‘Laden’ To be Trained, Named as ‘Krishna’

The forest department and Sootea MLA Padma Hazarika have withdrawn the decision to free 'Laden' which was tranquilized on Monday.

Earlier,it was decided that Laden will be set free in Lumding but as locals protestedagainst the decision saying that the elephant will terrorize in the area, theforest department has now decided that it will not be freed.

Ladenwill be trained and from now onwards it will be known as 'Krishna'.

The forest officials said that the elephant will work for the forest department and the elephants Ramu, Babu, and Bahadur will train Laden which is named 'Krishna.'
