Landslide sweeps building in Mizoram, kills 10

Ten people, including six women, were killed along with one person injured as a building was swept away by landslide triggered by heavy rains at Lunglei town, Mizoram.

The landslide hit the two-storied building last night killing seven members of a family living in the ground floor and three people belonging to another family residing in the first floor, the police informed.

Four persons were rescued from the building, police officials said, adding that one of them suffered injuries.

The Lunglei District Disaster Response team and local volunteers rushed to the spot for rescue operation and to clear the debris.
