Leopard Attack, Ten Injured In Cachar

Residents of Harina basti in Assam's Cachar district are living under a shadow of fear after a leopard lurking in the area attacked around 10 persons leaving 5 of them seriously injured on Thursday.

As per reports, after the attack, the locals of the village immediately rushed the injured to Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) and also intimated the forest department officials who rushed to the spot.

Meanwhile, the forest officials have asked the locals to stay away from the wild cat.

Forest department officials reached the village along with two cages to trap the leopard.

The injured have been identified as Dwijendra Das, Abdul Mannan, Debajit Das, Rahim Uddin, Parul Hussain, Suren Das, Babul Das and Jamirun Bibi.
