Lockdown: Sonowal talks to Conrad Sangma

Inview of the situation created by the outbreak of novel Coronavirus across thecountry and its fallout in North East, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Fridayspoke to his Meghalaya counterpart Conrad Sangma over phone. Sonowal requested Sangmato ensure hassle-free transportation of the vehicles carrying essentialcommodities from Guwahati to Barak Valley and vice versa through Meghalaya.

Sonowalsaid that since vehicles carrying essential commodities for the locked downBarak Valley pass through the territory of Meghalaya, a helping hand from theauthorities of Meghalaya enables the State government Assam to reach out to thepeople of Barak Valley faster.

Onthe other hand, Conrad Sangma assured Sonowal of taking adequate steps forensuing seamless transportation of essential commodities through Meghalayawithout any disruption. Both the Chief Minister also talked on the situationcreated by the corona pandemic and steps taken by both the neighbouring statesto contain the outbreak.
