LS polls: BJP to go solo in Assam

Pratidin Bureau

BJP is likely to go alone in Assam in the coming Lok Sabha election. Assam State BJP president Ranjeet Dass on Monday said that they would contest the Lok Sabha elections alone.

"The BJP is no more in alliance with AGP. They have taken the seats of opposition in the assembly. So we would not tie up with AGP in the election," said Dass.

The State BJP president also said that the party members have already informed their decision to Amit Shah during his visit to the State.

Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Monday unveiled BJP's outreach campaign 'Bharat Ke Mann Ki Baat' in Guwahati. Ranjeet Dass and other leaders of the party were also present during the event.
