The Home department on Friday ordered reshuffle at the top-level in the police department (Assam Police).

On repatriation from Central deputation, IGP Munna Prasad Gupta was posted as IGP (TAP), while DIG (Northern Range) Lachit Baruah was posted as DIG (Law and Order) in place of DIG Arabinda Kalita.

DIG (Central Range) Dilip Kumar Dey would replace PK Dutta as DIG (SR). Further, DIG (MPC) Nitul Gogoi would be the new DIG of the Northern Zone while DIG (BTAD) Satya Raj Hazarika has been posted as DIG (Central Zone).

Arabinda Kalita has been relieved from the post of DIG (Law and Order) but will continue to hold the post of Managing Director of Assam Police Corporation Limited.
