Majuli Ferry Services suspended

Following the heavy downpour and rise in the water level of Brahmaputra River, the ferry services between Majuli and Nimatighat have been suspended for an indefinite period from Tuesday.

Authorities of Inland Water Transport (IWT) department have informed about the decision today. The officers In-charges of the ferry ghats are requested to remain vigilant regarding the maintenance/Mooring, securing of boats/vessels etc. under IWT Assam.

Meanwhile,the Regional Meteorology Centre has warned maximum possibility of heavy to veryheavy rainfall in the State.
