Just after midnight on Sunday morning, a Hyundai Verna car driven by a young man is said to have crashed into the Dispur police patrol car in Ganeshguri.

As per reports, the driver's breath and body smelled like alcohol, and his eyes appeared red. Police had found wine bottles in the car.

Police detained the man and his partner for Breathalyzer test and took in custody.

The man now faces drunk driving charges along with vehicular assault, reckless endangerment and several other related charges.
