In a shocking incident on Saturday night, a person identified as Bijay Tanti was killed by one Dhaniya Sab in Bishwanath district's Japoriguri.

It has been known that both Tanti and Sab were friends and got into an argument while they were drinking alcohol.

Sab has been absconding after committing the murder.

In another incident, the body of a lady was recovered in Kaliabor from Brahmaputra river.

Locals suspect that the lady was murdered and then thrown in the river.

The recovery of the semi-decomposed body of the watchman of Saikhowa Congress Bhawan in Doomdooma has created a sensation in the area.

Identified as Surajit Chakraborty, the body was found hanging by the ceiling.

The reason behind his death is yet to be ascertained.
