Manipur CM meets flood victims; asks Centre for assistance

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Sunday visited two flood-hit villages in Imphal East and met flood victims of the area.

He also inspected the flood relief camps at Monjam Mamanf Leikai and Maiba Khul Primary School.

Speaking to media persons, the CM informed that he had a telephonic conversation with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and briefed him about the current flood situation.

N Biren Singh also said that the state government has asked for immediate assistance from the Centre for welfare of the flood victims, rebuilding houses and reconstruction of roads in the state. "Our Union Home Minister has instructed the Home Secretary to provide instantaneous aid for the flood-affected populace" he added.
