A married man has been charged for raping and blackmailing a woman in Nagaon Balaghat. The man named Mohammed Ali has been allegedly raping the girl since a long time and  impregnated her. He also threatened the girl  of not disclosing it in front of anyone.

The incident came to light after the family members revealed that the girl was six months pregnant. Later, the girl disclosed  that Ali threatened to kill her if she opened her mouth.

A complaint has been lodged against Mohammad Ali at Kathiatali police station by the family members. However the family members have alleged that the police have not been supportive and has not yet arrested the culprit.

Rangolu Women Samiti, a local NGO of the region also demanded probe of the case and justice for the victim.
