Meghalaya: 8-month old baby dies of COVID-19

Meghalaya witnesses its second death on late Monday evening with an eight-month-old baby boy who passed away due to coronavirus (COVID-19).

The baby was from Arunachal Pradesh who was brought to NEIGRIHMS in Meghalaya for treatment. Meghalaya Director of Health Services, Dr. Aman War informed the boy was already brought in a critical condition and was referred from Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences in Arunachal Pradesh for the treatment of another illness.

The parents, along with their driver had accompanied the child. All of their swab samples were collected and three of them tested negative for COVID-19 except the child.

Meghalaya has one of the lowest cases of COVID-19 with 89 positive cases and 44 active cases. So far there has been two death and 43 recoveries.
