MeghalayaGovernment has issued alert across the state due to heavy downpour within a spanof 24 hours, which has disrupted normal life. Flash floods and landslide hasput life in a standstill in the northeastern state.

Accordingto reports, there has been 72.2 mm rain in the last 24 hours.

Areas includingShillong, Jaintia Hills, and Garo Hills are reeling under the atrocities ofincessant rains.

Reports oflandslides near the AG office and Malki in Shillong have also come in.

The stategovernment has urged the people to stay indoors.
