The Meghalaya police has seized huge amount of Heroin and Codeine from a bus while it was on its way to Guwahati from Silchar.

The drugs have been seized by Meghalaya police during their regular operation. During its operation, police seized 123.73 gram of heroin and 400 litre of Codeine worth Rs. around 60 lakhs.

Police also apprehended two persons in connection to drugs smuggling. Theidentified drug smugglers are Saharul Islam Laskar and Mamon Ahmed Laskar.

Both Saharul and Mamon hails from Berenga in Silchar. Police havestarted interrogating the two persons.
