Meghalaya Registers 19 New Cases of COVID-19

Meghalaya on Thursday registered 19 new cases of COVID-19, taking the state's tally to 534. With the new cases, the active cases in the state stand with 452.

These 19 new positive cases include 13 BSF personnel in East Khasi Hills district and three each in West Garo Hills and South West Garo Hills district.

At present, the number of BSF personnel infected by the virus is 282.

The state reported 78 recoveries and four deaths so far.

East Khasi Hills district has the highest number of active positive cases at 379.

The majority of the people who tested positive for COVID-19 in Meghalaya were those who returned from other parts of the country, as well as personnel of different paramilitary forces.
