Tension prevailed in Bardarpur ghat in Karimganj on Friday night as some unidentified miscreants suddenly attacked an Assam Police team on election duty.

The miscreants had attacked incessantly at the ASTC vehicle carrying 25 officials who were returning from polling stations.
10 police personnel sustained serious injuries in the attack and were rushed to hospital for treatment.

Following this, Karimganj Police has arrested two accused in the case. They are Mehbub Ahmed and Amir Sultan.

This is not the first time miscreants have attacked polling officials in the state.
