Missing Assam youth rescued in NSCN (IM) camp

Acting on a tip-off, Hatigaon police had conducted a search operation at Dimapur in Nagaland and managed to rescue the missing youth Ranjan Chetri along with two other youths.

On August 31, Ranjan Chetri visited Dimapur for meeting his friend Farhad Uddin, after which Ranjan was allegedly kidnapped by NSCN (IM) from his friend Farhad's home.

According to Ranjan's family, NSCN (IM) demanded Rs 3 lakh as ransom. Hatigaon police rescued Ranjan Chetri from a camp close to Half Nagarjan in Dimapur.
