Mizoram: DM Given a Palanquin Ride by Villagers

The people of the Tisopi area in Mizoram are rejoicedby the fact that a District Magistrate has come to visit a remote village andgave him a palanquin ride.

According to the visuals shared by news agency ANI, agroup of men can be seen expressing happiness over the magistrate's visit, asthis is the first time that some officials has visited the village.

Following this, the locals lifted the DistrictMagistrate Bhupesh Chaudhary on their shoulders in a carrier made of wood andcloth and paraded him through the village.

The magistrate visited the village to take stock ofthe village. The roads of the village were damaged following landslides occurredin the area due to incessant rainfall.
