Mizoram’s COVID-19 Tally Climbs to 860

Mizoram registered 45 fresh cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday taking the state's tally to 860, informed state health department.

The active cases in the state stand at 481 while 379 patients have recovered from the disease.

Of the 45 cases, 30 have been detected positive in ZMC RT-PCR lab while 1 from Lunglei Civil Hospital Truenat and 14 are detected in Rapid Antigen Test.

Of the new cases, Aizawl district reported 21 cases, Kolasib 14, Lawngtlai district 6, Mamit district 3 while 1 case has been reported from Lunglei district.

Meanwhile, Aizawl wore a deserted look with vehicles remaining off the road and residents staying indoors as the government imposed a four-day total lockdown that began on Sunday night.

Filling stations, banks and some shops selling essential items were open, police said.

The lockdown was imposed to stem the spread of the coronavirus.
