MK Jewelers Looted For 2nd Time

Themiscreants of daylight robbery in MK Jewelers at Kalapahar on Friday have notyet identified and the proprietor of the jewelry shop Bikash Debnath said thatin 2017 also some miscreants looted the jewelry shop.

Debnath also alleged that an employee of the shop also absconded by taking some jewelry and although the matter was reported to the police they have not taken any step against it.

The robbery took place in broad daylight at MK Jewelers in Kalapahar area. The miscreants looted jewelry worth several lakh rupees and also took away cash from the jewelry store, said an employee.

Reacting on the two robbery cases that took place in the city on Friday, DGP Kuladhar Saikia said that stern action will be taken against the arrested police personnel. Saikia said that suspension process is underway against the police officials who said themselves as the officers of crime branch while looting Rs. 20lakh from a Mizo woman.

On the other hand, Saikia said that police have received clue on Kalapahar robbery case. The DGP said that the police will soon identify the culprits and police also suspected the involvement of employee of the jewelry shop.
