MLA Mrinal Saikia questions AGP’s stand on CAB

KhumtaiBJP MLA Mrinal Saikia has asked ally Asom Gana Parishad (AGP)'s stand on theCitizenship (Amendment) Bill, which is likely to be introduced in theparliament during the winter session.

MLASaikia asked, "What would be AGP's stand on the CAB this time? Are they goingto break the alliance once again?"

It maybe mentioned here that the AGP had earlier scrapped the ties with BJP for thecontentious bill and later returned to the alliance ahead on the Lok SabhaElection.

Meanwhile,people across the State have been protesting against the bill. Various organisationslike AASU and KMSS have also announced their agitation programme against thebill.
