The 12-day autumn session of Assam Legislative Assembly began at Dispur on September 25. There are altogether 9 working days in this session. However, few MLAs of the assembly urged assembly Speaker Hitendra Nath Goswami to declare a half-holiday on Thursdays of every session.

Shiladitya Dev, Terosh Gowala, Rituparna Baruah, Chakradhar Gogoi, Mrinal Saikia, Jogen Mohan, Sanjay Kishan, Rupak Sharma, Bimal Bora and Bhaskar Dev are the MLAs who had demanded the Thursdays as a half-holiday during the assembly sessions.

It may be mentioned that seven bills are expected to be tabled in the session.
