More than 20 suspected Bangladeshis detained

At least 20 suspected Bangladeshis including children and women were apprehended at Pengeri area under Doom Dooma on Thursday by the locals. According to reports, the suspected Bangladeshis worked were seen roaming in the area.

The locals of the area apprehended the suspected Bangladeshis who did not own any valid citizenship documents. Later the suspected Bangladeshis were handed them over to police.

Notably, few days ago, 30 suspected Bangladeshis were apprehended in Nakachari under Jorhat district and 25 suspected Bangladeshis were apprehended in Tinsukia by the police after members of All Tai Ahom Students Union, AJYCP and Motok Students' Union informed the police about the suspects, who could not produce any valid documents on being questioned.
