NAGAON | 14 persons declared ‘Foreigner’

The Foreigners Tribunal has served notice to 14 persons in Juria, Nagaon declaring them as 'Foreigner'.

The declared foreigners are – Baharul Islam, Amina Khatun, Aspina Khatun, Sohidul Islam, Firoza Khatun, Rahima Khatun, Abdul Khaleq, Hazina Khatun, Jahera Khatun, Abdur Rahman, Usman Ali, Sukurjan Nesa, Mamtaz Begum and Sofiqul Rahman.

It may be mentioned that a former army officer and Kargil war veteran in Assam Mohammed Sana Ullah, who had won a President's medal was apprehended on Wednesday and sent to a detention camp in after a foreigners' tribunal declared him a 'foreigner',

The State has 125,333 D-voters (doubtful voters, marked by the Election Commission) and that 131,034 of the 244,144 cases sent to Foreigners' Tribunals have been disposed of (As per Govt. Reports)
