Nazira man dies of Japanese Encephalitis

Amid the outbreak of coronavirus cases, there has been a gradual increase in the cases of Japanese Encephalitis, resulting in the death of one person belonging to Nazira.

This is the second death caused by Japanese Encephalitis in Nazira this year.

The deceased succumbed to the deadly disease in Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) in Dibrugarh. The deceased identified as Indra Borgohain belonged from Nazira's Rojapool Gohain village. Borgohain was suffering from fever for a few days.

Japanese Encephalitis (JE) is an infection of the brain caused by the Japanese Encephalitis virus (JEV).
