Nazira Police Station has been declared the bestPolice Station of Assam by the Union Home Ministry. The Nazira PS has beendeclared best among all the police stations in the State in the Annual Rankingof Police Stations for 2018.

A special team of MHA has also awarded the Nazira PS with "certificate of excellence". The team had examined all the police stations in the State and adjusted Nazira as the best among them.

As per sources, the MHA team inspects the quality control performance on several points, including security arrangement, cleanliness, cops' approach to deal with visitors, attend their problem or grievances and preferences being offered to the visitors while attending their complaints, maintenance of records and their up-gradation, performance of policemen in terms of efficiency, sensitivity and presentation, feedback of local people as well as visitors, in the police stations.
