In a joint operation launched by police of Gossaigaon Sub-division, Indian Army and 210 Cobra unit of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Wednesday, a cadre of National Democratic Front of Boroland-Songbijit (NDFB-S) was arrested at Kachugaon area of Kokrajhar district.

"The operation was launched on the basis of information shared by a trusted source," stated a Kokrajhar district police press communiqué.

The operation was launched early on Wednesday morning at around 7.30 am. The arrested cadre has been identified as 33-year-old Rohiton Narzary.

One 7.65 mm pistol and 15 rounds of bullets along with one AK-56 rifle, one magazine and 21 rounds of ammunition were also recovered from Narzary's possession.

It may be mentioned here that Narzary has been involved in a series of anti-social activities extortion, recruitment of new cadres and other subversive activities for NDFB(S) in Kokrajhar.
