NEIPDA Calls for 24-Hr Petrol Pump Bandh on Nov 25

Pratidin Bureau

The North East India Petroleum Dealers' Association (NEIPDA), Greater Guwahati unit has called for a 24-hour closure of the petrol pump from 5 am on November 25 to 5 am on November 26 within Greater Guwahati area.

The closure of retail outlets has been called by the association as the dealers faced agony and hardship due to the nonchalant and high handed attitude of the Oil Marketing Companies (OMC).

The association, therefore, requested the district administration to intervene in the matter so as to mitigate the problems faced by the dealers. The members of the association also said that under the Motor Spirit and High-Speed Diesel (Regulation of Supply, Distribution, and Prevention of Malpractices) Order, 2005, as amended, the Deputy Commissioner has been vested with overall legal authority to adjudicate upon such issues.
