NESO stages protest in New Delhi against CAB

The Northeast Students' Organization (NESO) with the back of various students' organisations and individuals has staged protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.

On Wednesday, a sit- in protest was witnessed organized by NESO at historic Jantar Mantar.

AASU chief adviser Dr Samujjal Kumar Bhattacharya, AASU President Dipanka Kumar Nath, general secretary Lurinjyoti Gogoi have shared the dais with NESO leaders.

The constituent organizations of the student body 'NESO' staged agitations against the contentious bill in the respective state capitals of the seven northeastern states recently.

All NESO constituents – All Assam Students' Union (AASU), Khasi Students' Union (KSU), Naga Students' Federation (NSF), Mizo Zirlai Pawl (MZP), Twipra Students' Federation (TSF), All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU), Garo Students' Union (GSU) and All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union (AAPSU) – have demanded that the Centre withdraw the bill immediately to make northeast free from illegal influx.
