Over 80 employees have been arrested for running a fake call centre that duped US citizens by acquiring their social security number, sending them audio note and threatened the respondents with arrest.

The employees are mostly from Nagaland and Meghalaya – Reports said.

Reportedly, the accused duped hundreds of Americans of crores of rupees ranging from $50 to $1,000 per person.

Police officers said that social security numbers of over 10 lakh American nationals have been recovered from the accused.

The call centre was being operated in two buildings – Platinum Plaza and a building at plot no 74 behind C21 mall in Indore.
