NRL should be government sector industry forever: Akhil Gogoi

Pratidin Bureau

At the moment, when the central government is going to hand over the NRL to the private company, people from various sectors have raised their voices against the matter.

At the same time, Akhil Gogoi the advisor of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) keeps his statement as "Assam Accord was signed after 855 people got martyred during the historic Assam Movement. We got the Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) as the result of the accord".

He added "Now the government is going to hand over the industries to some private company, but we will not let them do so. BPCL, NRL and the Tea industries of Assam are completely our property. The government can't hand over these to anyone when they need it.

Moreover, he said, "NRL should be the government sector industry forever. If really Central or the State Government is thinking to do so, then we will start a huge movement against the issue."
