In a major development, one has been arrested on Saturday night in Jorhat in connection to the suspicious death of Dr. Rahul Basumatary.

A daily wage painter named Diganta Tati was apprehended from Jorhat's Chinnamara. Basumatary's smartphone was recovered from Tati.

Basumatary was killed gruesomely on Friday night. He was a junior doctor working at Dr. J.K.Saikia Homeopathy Medical College, Jorhat.

He was found dead at his rented home in Jorhat Town's Chandan Nagar.
