The troops of Indian Army and its Myanmar counterparts have jointly conducted anti-insurgency operations along the international border and have deliberately destroyed several insurgent camps on their respective sides belonging to the Northeast (NE) militants.

Apart from destroying the designated camps, the security forces were also able to nab around 80 insurgents and at least seven to eight insurgent camps of the NSCN-K, NDFB, ULFA-I, KLO and NEFT in Myanmar's Sagaing Region were destroyed by the Myanmar Army, reported stated.

From the Myanmarese counterpart, four of its battalions wereput into action to clear insurgents on its side of the border.

In total 70 to 80 militants have been apprehended by the Indian Army under the current operation, who has then been handed over to the local police forces. As per the report, at least seven to eight camps of the NSCN-K, NDFB, ULFA(I), KLO and NEFT in Myanmar's Sagaing Region were destroyed by the Myanmar Army in mortar firing.

According to a report,the coordinated military operation called "Operation Sunshine-2" took placebetween May 16, 2019 to June 8, 2019 involving two battalions ofthe Indian Army, Special Forces, troops of the Assam Rifles(AR) and theInfantry Ghataks.
