Petrol-diesel price hike continues

The price of petrol and diesel have been increasing at an alarming rate. On Saturday the price of petrol reached Rs 82.75 whereas diesel was priced at Rs 75.80.

On a single day petrol price increased by 41 paise and diesel by 46 paise. The price of petrol and disesl have been increasing continuously since Aug 28. In Assam, Nalbari district topped with the highest  price of petrol with Rs 86.21 paise and diesel with Rs 75.69 paise.

The prices of petrol exceeded Rs 83 and diesel exceeded Rs 73 in Kokrajhar, Dhemaji, Majuli, Lakhimpur, Udalguri, Dibrugarh and Nagaon. Oppposition party Congress called a 'Bharat Bandh' on 10th September against the hike in petrol and diesel prices.

Various organisations also staged protest on Saturday against the hike in Assam. Thaura Block Youth Congress also protested at Dimow burning CM Sarbananda Sonowal's effigy against the price hike.
