Petrol Pumps to remain closed on Friday

All petrol pumps in Guwahati will remain closed on Friday. Greater Guwahati Petroleum Dealers' Association, which is  a unit of North East Petroleum Dealers' Association, made the announcement on Thursday.

The bandh has been called for a 12 hour period and hence, petrol pumps will be shut from 5 am to 5 pm.

The bandh has been called as the association's support towards All India Trade Bandh.

The All India Trade Bandh is called by the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) opposing the Walmart-Flipkart deal besides foreign direct investment in retail trade, according to a communique issued by the petroleum dealers association here on Thursday.

The association has urged the city dwellers to keep their vehicles filled with fuel beforehand.
