PM Modi to visit Assam on feb 9, confirms Himanta

Assam is on the boil, since Narendra Modi-led BJP government passed the much debated Citizenship (Amendment) Bill in the Lok Sabha, earlier in January. People from all section of the society in the State have been continuously protesting against BJP government.

Amid the ongoing protest against the Bill, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Assam on February 9. Informing about PM Modi's visit, Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the PM will take part in several programme, during his day-long visit.

Minister Sarma informed that the Prime Minister will inaugurate construction works of a bridge connection Guwahati and North Guwahati over the river Brahmaputra. The bridge will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 2187 crore. The Assam Minister also informed that the PM will also start the construction work of AIIMS at Changsari.

Sarma further said that PM will also visit Arunachal Pradesh to lay the foundation stone of Hollongi Airport. PM is also likely to fly to Tripura on Saturday to address a public rally.
