Poacher Attacks Police Officer in Golaghat

The officer-in-charge of Kamargaon police station Mayurjit Gogoi has been attacked by poachers with sharp ammunition in Bokakhat during an operation against the rhino poachers.

The Golaghat police have launched an operation against rhino poachers at Lakhojan in Bokakhat on Tuesday night and recovered one 303 rifle from the team of three poachers. The police officer has been attacked while he went to apprehend the poacher along with Golaghat Superintendent of Police Surjeet Singh Panesar.

The poacher absconded from the scene after attacking the police officer with sharp ammunition. The injured police officer has been sent for primary treatment at Bokakhat civil hospital and later referred to Dibrugarh hospital for advanced treatment.
