Poachers arrested at Bokakhat, buried rifle recovered

In a successful operation carried out by Golaghat Police, two poachers were arrested at Bokakhat on Wednesday.

They have been identified as Sarat Saikia, who hails from Tamulipathar in Bokakhat and N Thangboi from Manipur.

The team of Golaghat Police also recovered a 303 rifle and ammunition along with an axe, buried at Sarat's home premises.

The duo had planned to hunt a rhino at Kaziranga National Park. Further investigation is going on.
