Power cut interrupts match between Saina-Sindhu

Pratidin Bureau

In a massive blow to Assam Chief Minister's continuous announcement of building Guwahati as the 'Sports Capital of the Nation', the match between Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu has been interrupted by a power cut.

Saina and Sindhu were playing the final match of women's single of 83rd Senior National Badminton Championships in the City at Deshbhakta Tarun Ram Phookan Indoor Stadium, when the electricity supply in the stadium was disrupted.

Notably, Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal and Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma were also present during the power cut. CM Sonowal and Minister Sarma went to witness the performance between the two ace shuttlers of the Nation in Guwahati.
