Prabajan Virodhi Manch stages rally in city

Pratidin Bureau

The Prabajan Virodhi Manch has staged a massive public rally against illegal immigrants at Latasil field, this afternoon.
Addressing the rally, convener Upamanyu Hazarika reiterated their major objectives behind the massive rally.

"Our objectives include issuing of land reservation, government jobs, trade licenses and so on only to the Indian citizens and residents of Assam as per the cut-off date 1951. Re-verification of those included in the final draft of NRC in the border and immigrant dominated districts and non-inclusion of any foreigners through the Citizenship Bill or any other measure." – Hazarika added.

He added that the above three measures adopted collectively will ensure that indigenous do not become a minority.
Representative from across the state congregated and shared their experience as to how they have been displaced by the infiltrators and turned into refugees in their own homeland.

The aim of Prabajan Virodhi Manch is to free Assam of all Bangladeshis/ foreign nationals. Since the signing of the Assam accord on 15 August 1985 the people of Assam have given the responsibility of identification, detecting and deporting Bangladeshis/ foreign nationals to successive Governments which have miserably failed.
