Prime accused of Ugratara idol theft case re-arrested

The prime accused of the Ugratara Temple idol theft case, Ajijul Ali, who escaped from the Latasil Police custody today, was re-arrested by the Dispur police on Saturday afternoon.

As per the reports, the Dispur police arrested the accused from Juripar area in the city. Earlier, he absconded from the police custody while he was taken to his resident for investigation purpose.

Ali who hails from Barama in Assam's Baksa district was arrested on June 19. The idol of Ugratara temple was stolen on November last year and the idol was recovered Nalbari district on May 1 by Golaghat police.
