Rameswar Teli addresses press conference in New Delhi

The newly elected Bharatiya Janata Party MP from Dibrugarh Rameswar Teli thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and newly appointed Home Minister Amit Shah for appointing him as the Minister of State for Food Processing Industries.

Addressing a press conference at Assam Bhawan in NewDelhi, Rameswar Teli said, "I thanked PM Modi ji and Amit Shah ji for giving mesuch a responsibility and also thanked the people of Assam for supporting meand making me win in the Lok Sabha election."

Teli said that food processing is a new subject for him and that he needs support of the people of Assam and that he will raise voice against the problem of the state in the Centre. He also stated that he will work for the development of North East.

RameshwarTeli has defeated Congress veteran Paban Singh Ghatowar by a record margin of3,64,566 votes in the Lok Sabha election. He has been a member of the tea-tribecommunity and was the only sitting BJP MP from Assam to have been re-nominatedby the party to contest in this election.
