Ramzan begins, Twitter floods with greetings

The holy month of Ramadan or also known as Ramzan begins and Muslims worldwide are observe this month as a period of fasting.

Worshippers flooded mosques on Monday night and offered special night prayers called "Taraweeh". These special prayers will continue throughout the month.

According to the Islamic Calendar, Ramzan is the ninth month and
according to Islamic belief it is commemorated as the first revelation of the Quran to Muhammad. Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated at the culmination of this month.

With the beginning of the holy month, Twitter has been flooded with greetings. Wishing the people on the occassion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has dedicated a few lines on this platform.

Congress in their official Twitter handle also greeted the people on this special occasion.

TMC Chief Mamata Banerjee greeted the people on this occasion.

Chief Minister of Assam also shared a few words for his wellwishers.
