Ranjan Gogoi reacts post CJI appointment

Four days prior to the oath taking ceremony, the Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi spoke about the judiciary system of the country at an event organised by Youth Bar Association of India on Saturday.

The CJI said that there are two issues that bothers him. There are a lot of pending cases on the court that aren't heard till now for years. There are also instances where the poor section of the society are deprived of justice.

Gogoi assured that the two issues would be soon be taken into consideration.

The newly appointed Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi will take oath on 3rd October 2018 as the  46th Chief Justice of India.

Earlier, the  Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed the plea which challenged the appointment of Justice Ranjan Gogoi as the next Chief Justice of India, saying the petition was "devoid of merits".
