Assam register their first win of the Ranji Trophy 2018-19 season in round two beating Tripura in 211 runs to bag six points on day four at the MBB Stadium, Agartala on Thursday.

Tripura started the day at 68/4, trailing Assam by 359 and Assam bowled out Tripura within few moments. Mukhtar Hussain picked up five wickets in Tripura's the second innings to go with his four in the first and was adjudged the Man of the Match.

For Tripura, the lower-middle order put up a brief resistance with Pratyush Singh scoring 22, SS Ghosh making 23 and Harmeet Singh adding 33 helping Tripura reach 216. In the first innings, they were shot out for 139 with Assam's arup Das claiming a five-for. Das got two wickets in the second innings and Ranjeet Mali added three to his tally.

Brief Scores: Assam 327 & 239/6d beat Tripura 139 & 216 (Harmeet Singh 33; Mukhtar Hussain 5/73) by 211 runs.
